Hypastorm is a fast, casual, twin stick action shooter. Experience a distant future, where you take your craft and enters the arena to shoot and bounce on enemies while jumping between platforms on your way to victory for fame and glory.
Hypastorm is the first commercial game released by Johan Steen.
Hypastorm was developed during April and May in 2020, initially as a proof of concept to stretch the legs with Apple's game related frameworks. As the game received positive feedback when sharing early builds on Reddit and Twitter the decision was made to tidy it up and make a proper release.
Version 1.0 of the game was shipped and became available in the App Store for iPhone and iPad. (July 3, 2020)
An update with full support for game controllers and gamepads was done cooking and released. (August 8, 2020)
All in-game graphics got a shiny refresh with a new coat of paint supporting up to 4K resolution. (September 13, 2020)
The game was enhanced with a stats display after each level to display the player's performance. (September 20, 2020)
The Apple TV version was released with additional enhancements for tvOS. (September 21, 2020)
The game was updated with Apple Game Center support adding a bunch of achievements for the player to collect and leaderboards to climb. (October 2, 2020)
The Mac version of the game was released with additional enhancements for macOS. Hypastorm is by that available on all Apple's platforms. (October 14, 2020)
Bitbebop Games is a one-person indie game studio operated by Johan Steen, specializing in unique retro next-gen games with a modern touch inspired by the golden days of gaming. The games are made for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Moving forward the plan is to expand the reach to more platforms.
